By partnering with an educational institution the other partners in the workforce center have many added opportunities for training of their clients and employees. The educational institution also provides assessment services to the other partners.
All assessment for the partners is now conducted by educational institution. This includes assessment for pre-existing skills, educational level, and self-interest evaluations.
From this an individualized
training plan can be developed for the client so they can reach
the goal of employment in a certain career field.
Workforce Center clients have the opportunity to enroll in full-time or short-term training in order to upgrade their skills in preparation for employment. Since the Center is housed within the educational facility, it is easy for clients to gain all of the information they need about the school's programs and begin the enrollment process. The school even has a representative who has a full-time office within the Workforce Center to provide career counseling for clients.
The school can also provide specific employee training for existing employees of local business and industry.
The educational institution can easily provide customized in-service training for Workforce Center staff and tailor it to exactly fit the needs.
The Workforce Center also has access to the instructors and experts at the educational institution for advisement on industry related matters.
A benefit for the school is that the agencies can provide advisement to the institution on future course offerings based on what they see are the placement needs of the local business community. This provides the additional benefit of increased enrollment for the educational institution.
